The ACT is required to get in most 4-year institutions.  
It is not required to attend community colleges.

It is important to register for the ACT during your 11th-grade year.
All 11th-grade students will be given the ACT for free at school in the spring.

Students can also register on their own to test on specific Saturdays during the year.
These tests are given locally at Dothan High School, Enterprise High School and various other locations.
